The Zako River originates from the Iwasuge Mountain Range in the Joshinetsu National Park, Shiga Kogen. This river is rare nationwide for its natural spawning and reproduction of native char (Honshu Iwana). Why not meet the “native char”?

Equipment

Essentials to bring for the guided tour: 1. Full tackle set (rod, reel, line) 2. Consumables and other small fishing items (leader, tippet, flies, etc.) 3. Polarized glasses 4. Rainwear 5. Waders and wading shoes 6. Hat (for heatstroke and hook protection) If possible: 7. Sunscreen (or sun mask) 8. Warm clothing (it can be chilly even in summer) 9. Towel and change of clothes 10. Drinks (purchase lunch nearby on the day) Regarding fishing licenses, please purchase them on-site on the day.
