Ski & Adventure Travel Writer, Resort Consultant and Owner, Snowsports Instructor, Guide at Hakuba Ski Concierge
Bio
Born and raised in the south east of England, I arrived in Japan in 2010, drawn by the ski resorts of Hakuba, a mountain village in Japan’s Northern Alps. Having spent many happy holidays on the Austrian ski slopes as a child, and following several successful seasons of snowsport instruction in Canada and Europe, Hakuba swiftly became home. In 2016 I founded Hakuba Ski Concierge, a luxury ski school operating out of Hakuba47 Winter Sports Park. As our lessons and guiding services are exclusively private, our focus is very much on delivering high-end, unique and fully customized experiences in the mountains. After 14 years of instructing and guiding individuals and groups from all walks of life, my love of creating memories in the mountains with our guests only deepens with time.
Message
Just as no two people are the same, neither should any one day in the mountains be. I believe in truly guest-centered experiences where the interests, needs and desires of the guests are heard and used to build something unforgettable. Personally, I am happy whenever I am on the slopes – whether that is a 40 degree one in the backcountry or side stepping up the bunny hill. Just as there is magic in seeing a first timer string together their first few turns, so too is there when a person cracks carving, discovers powder or has their best day in the backcountry yet. Whatever the age, interest or skill level – few things give me greater kicks in life than sharing the magic of the mountains with others.

To learn a little bit more about themselves and to connect with their surroundings in a way that is meaningful to them. To be safe, to have fun and to always remember.
